One of the best hospitals in the country.
Every now and then, life can throw you a curve ball and put you or a loved one in the hospital. We’re so fortunate to have a hospital that can assist you with any medical needs, from routine to trauma, right here in Madison. Meriter Hospital, now part of the Unity Point Health System, provides the highest quality of care to the residents of Madison, Dane County and the surrounding communities.
Meriter Hospital actually started providing medical care to the Madison community in 1898! It began as Madison General Hospital and in 1903 it reached its’ capacity of only 30 patients! In 1957, Madison General became affiliated with the University Of Wisconsin Medical School. The hospital staff began its first of many obstetrics training to UW medical students. Through the years it expanded, and in 1987 merged with Methodist Hospital and became Meriter Hospital. It is a non-profit, 448 bed healthcare facility providing the utmost care to all members of the community. In 2010 and again in 2011, Meriter Hospital was named one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals® by Thompson Reuters. The staff prides themselves with providing the best in innovation and care for each one of the patients they see.
Being in the hospital can be stressful for the patient, but it can be even more stressful for the family members. The entire staff of Sleep Inn Madison excels in providing a comfortable place to come back and relax from the stress of your hospital visit. They make every effort to accommodate any of your needs during your stay, no matter the length of your visit.
Please contact us if you need accommodations during your visit to Meriter Hospital. We offer a special rate for families with loved ones in the hospital. We look forward to assisting you with anything you need and hope we can make you comfortable during a rather uncomfortable time.
